someday
i will take a picture of silence
she said
and giggled into
her tall glass of wine that
should have been lemonade or
at least some pretty russian vodka
and you threw me that look across
acres of time we have both already
crossed in bare feet and blisters
and the only thing left to do
was smile

This one just feels so right, born whole, inevitable.

i like the gentleness of understanding in this…if only we could capture silence so easy….and make mine a lemonade…smiles.

sugar, as a reader, i just lick these words clean. as a writer, i beckon the rich aroma closer. as a former graphic designer, i lead the standing ovation.

‘acres of time we have both already

acres of time? i am totally immersed in those words.’bare feet and blisters’. you
bring such richness to sentences i have never
even given any thought to. as always, Mrs M.
absolutely breath taking.

I can also see this as the beginning of a story. I want to know more. 🙂

I feel the opposite of InkyTwig; you provided just the right amount of information to allow my imagination to kick in. I love the giggly girl who should be drinking lemonade. I’m her. And it’s nice when people are loving enough to just smile. 🙂
