most nights, once cold weather sets in, this is where you’ll find me.
i never get tired of sitting in front of the fire.
in my house, i am known as the firemaster. after twenty-three years of starting fires every night, all winter, i’ve become pretty good at it.
sometimes i let my husband pretend that he is better at it than i am.
sometimes.
and sometimes i let him have the couch, which offers the best view.
but after he goes to bed, it is just me and the couch and my fire. and if i’m lucky and i don’t have anything else i have to do, a good book will join us.
i am such a hermit, such a homebody. so not dynamic.
but hey, opposites attract, right?

I love sitting by the fire, too! Some wine, a cozy throw and a good book or good music or a good movie…that’s all I need to be happy!

I love an open fire. We used to have a real log fire in our home in CT but after we moved to VA we now have a gas fire place that comes on at the flick of a switch. I miss the mess that came with making a real fire, the crackle of the logs, the smell, the intensity and losing myself in the warmth of it’s flames.

As someone who straddles both worlds (“out there, doing” & “just want to be in my home/homebody”) I encourage you to redefine dynamic as those who sit still & hold the anchor of home, as the deep-sea waves toss both jellyfish & ship about…

As a non-dynamic, homebody, hermit who knows that you breathe life into waaaaaay more than just a fire ~ may I just say that you are Dynamite. (Which is technically one letter more than Dynamic, which puts it a step above.)
Oh, and I’m holding out hope that Batman will like me best. I have a good shot at it, unless we have to submit something in writing. You’ll do okay with Robin though ~ he can be Hawk lure …

I live in an area that loses its power every time the wind picks up. How I wish I had a fireplace or a wood stove. The flames are mesmerizing and the crackling sounds are music to my soul.
