sign post
it all started with the word hope from debi’s post. i couldn’t stop thinking about that word, hope, and about her words, there.
then came graciel’s and debi’s challenge based on these words:
“life is just overwhelming at times, and we are all
standing on a corner with a sign in our hands
needing something.”
and so we are.
so what do i need?
it was so hard to narrow it down,
hope was the one i kept coming back to,
but i knew it wasn’t enough, just hope.
there had to be something more.
something i can’t live without.
words.
love.
hope.
that’s it. mostly.
around the border are other things i think i need,
or wish for, or like or want or cherish.
but if i was standing on a corner,
and you just happened to be driving by on a rainy morning,
you’d see words first, and maybe even love,
but unless you slowed down to really look,
you’d miss the hope.

I’ve got some hope that needs a home, it just so happens, what a coincidence. What corner are you standing on? I’ll bring hope and cookies.

I am so loving Cristina bringing hope and cookies. Can I stop by?
Your sign is beautiful and I enlarged it so I could read all the way around. Silence. Chaos. Serendipity. You are a complicatd woman, my dear.
And words. First words. Thank God you need words and thank God you share them. I HOPE you always will.
xoxo

your words are always bursting with hope!

I love this. I love all the words along the border, because it is so true of all of us: a few core needs, but all those others floating around the edges that are almost *almost* as important. I can identify with most of them; hope almost made it onto my sign too. And am I crazy or did I see “warm socks” on there? If so, count me all in on that one too!

I have hope to spare. Lots of it and since your words are so lovely I know you have more of those many more and there’s never enough love but may you receive all that you can.
Big hugs.
thanks for your beautiful post

wonderful sign – fabulous words!!

I would see Hope first ~ for without it, you would not be on the corner, you would not brave the rain, you would not have made the sign.
Before Hope becomes a mere word on a page, it glows softly within. Sometimes it sparks, sometimes it blazes and sometimes it’s just a beautiful ember that refuses to die.
It also seems to attract the most amazing people, if your comment stream is anything to go by. Sending you showers of Hope and Blessings …

and i’m there standing with a sign saying “will work for laughs.” can we share a corner? please?

I love your words Kelly. If I saw you on a street corner with them I’d smile and say “I get it!”

Oh, I love this! I think making the word ‘hope’ smaller is brilliant, because only the people who are truly intrigued and compassionate will be willing to slow down and really see the sign and really see you. Those are the people you want to stop and lend a hopeful hand, right?
