defining moments
you drew these lines in the sand, not me.
thought you could box me in i think
but i am not so simple
not so easily defined
not so ready to be so still
and i’m not sure if you hope that i will cross them
or if you’d rather that i hurdle them
but either way, you know, you know
i’m not just going to stand here
and wait until my feet take root
when i’m so thirsty.

First of all, I am in love with this image – don’t ask me to explain, I can’t; I just love it. And then those words. Oh my. Goodness.
you know, you KNOW . . . I LOVE this!

I can just see you with your eyes narrowed as you deliver this message. Oh yeah.

ohhhhh……this is sweet poetry !
wanting and needing becomes demanding and sometimes that’s just how we women are !
“nobody puts baby in the corner”…….OR…….”nobody draws a line in the sand for me”
wow….i just totally felt your poem and maybe you meant something terribly different, but this is where i went……

nobody puts baby… that made me laugh and you are pretty close, but that’s what i love about poetry, the reader always gets to decide what it means to them… and thank you

I need this poem…I need someone I know to read this poem and I will feel so much better…I guess that makes it a really, really good poem.
