the geese are on the move
and i am still right here
these are the words
that ring through my head
on a hamster-wheel day
when running in place
feels just as exhausting
as covering distance
and all i really
want to do
is fly
.

Boy do I feel this:
“when running in place
feels just as exhausting
as covering distance”

You’ve created this beautiful poem because you are living where the seasons are more defined. I’m in the southern NV desert now but for about half of my long life, I lived where I was very aware of seasonal change. You are taking me back to my younger years and I’m loving this trip!
