spinning gold from
a sunset of forest
to hide the wall of never enough
i draw birds
to fountain up from dark trunks
and skeletons laugh-dancing in one corner
perfecting pretty and discarding
all the dirt that comes from
mining
soot and sanity brushed off
in time for dinner
and a habit
of sinking

Never enough is something that continually has to be fought, even as its hidden or painted on or disfigured with life and effort–as you do so well here—really a fine poem.

I have several of those walls.
Love your process and the beauty
that flows from the trueness
of you…..thank you.
