stand in the place
where you are
here is the hardest word
not sorry
nor forgiveness
though both are solid rocks
in the shoe of living
but
here
you cannot stay
you cannot leave
you cannot sing yourself away
or back again
from the eternal sunset
of lavender libation
all you can do really
is open
your eyes
your heart
your arms
your mouth
drink it in
inhale
exist beneath this ever
changing
umbrella of now
here
listen
hear it
raining down
.

Perhaps my favorite from you, Kelly. At least HERE, NOW. A beauty!

it can be one of the hardest place to be…and at the same time one of the most comforting…love the play in the title too…hey i know that song….smiles…but this is what we have and there is much to appreciate about it….

that it’s an “ever changing umbrella of now” is what we forget when we think here is too hard. too boring. too painful. tomorrow will be here tomorrow, turning into now and bringing changes. my arms are open.
this is truth. and beauty. and now.

I could live, right here, in this poem.

My face pain spiked while I was on vacation and has been bad since I’ve been home. It’s been stressing me out but I took the dogs for a walk earlier and was trying to embrace everything around me other than pain. This was the perfect thing to read today and a definite favorite.
