frozen
when i want to dance

sometimes we just cannot get out of our skin… and not only if we’re a stone rabbit, right…?
January 21st, 2014 at 3:13 pm
Ha, yes, Claudia, that is exactly it! xo

A life of contradictions, not always easy but our nonetheless.

I can certainly identify with frozen & rooted ~ Good one Kelly ~
January 21st, 2014 at 3:27 pm
Oh, I can identify with this. And sometimes these situations can be TRULY irritating.

Being the being we are… is sometimes a hard task. I could relate with the closing emotion.

Interesting play of thoughts. >KB

Great contrasts… and the title is brilliant.. it never gets how you want it to be…
January 21st, 2014 at 4:16 pm
I love all the contrasts in your poem. We are such conundrums, aren’t we?!? Your stone rabbit is quite stuck I’d say 🙂
January 21st, 2014 at 4:30 pm
WOw! Love this and um…are you spying on me? Perfect- you captured well, how we can be…
January 21st, 2014 at 4:53 pm
I can relate 🙂 sometimes not easy to get out of our own skin.

Marvelously poignant …sad but beautifully expressed

Ultra-slow motion. Sometimes wanting has to be enough… Every word is significant, I like that.
January 21st, 2014 at 7:44 pm
I have felt like that rabbit a time or two..
January 21st, 2014 at 7:50 pm
Brilliant! Coupled with the picture–perfect. The two compliment each other and the picture makes the poem come alive and vice versa.

Sounds like my reactions to most things.

Stone lepus, but heart of beating flesh; frozen, inert, yet the imagination soars to the stratosphere; nice tension in this one; thanks.

Simple and sweet

for some reason I’m wondering what the gargoyles are thinking… ~

Stark contrasts in a stone rabbit – well illustrated. Yet, it brings back a lost memory from my distant childhood – a repaired stone rabbit in my grandparents garden for which I had a great affection. Thank you for sharing.

Ah, the mass of contradictions we all are. Succinct and perfect.
January 22nd, 2014 at 7:51 am
Sometimes it seems as if we’re trapped…not so much by the world around us as by the very nature of what we are, like your stone bunny…If I can take this a step further, the poem can be taken as a commentary on poetry itself: once it’s cast in stone, so to speak, it has a life of its own that may not comport with the artist’s original intent. You struggle to have your words make sense the way you first felt them, but the perceptions and agendas of readers have the final say. This is a very interesting work. Nice job. Stay warm.

I really love this. So much in a few choice words. Very nice.
January 22nd, 2014 at 7:46 pm
I am reading your poetry after quite some time – simple and so effective this one is, loved it.
January 23rd, 2014 at 3:38 am
Heart-rending – but life is like that sometimes.
January 23rd, 2014 at 7:27 am
I loved this. I think lots of us find ourselves stuck.
January 23rd, 2014 at 2:50 pm
Very effective words to describe how we can become stuck at times, like a stone rabbit. Well done.

What we want to do & what we do…
