teaching moment
{reverb11 – day 15}
::
Sometimes we find teachers in the most unexpected places.
Who surprised you as a teacher this year,
and what did you learn?
::
Funny because just yesterday, my 18-years-young niece
taught me a valuable lesson.
::
I mentioned that someone had upset me by being
bitter and acting in a very un-holidayish manner.
And she said “eh, forget ’em! tis Christmas!
those that anger you, conquer you.”
::
She’s a very cute wise old soul,
don’t you think?

What a lovely post! It’s amazing what you can learn from teenagers if you just take a moment to listen.

i know this is going to sound rather humbugish, but i think considerate behavior is a year round thing and needn’t be tied to christmas or any holiday. just me. i like a genuine hug or an authentic pat on the back because…a little aunt ruth of me, but love has no season needs no mistletoe.

some have reason to be bitter. but in the end, it only hurts us, not the person who causes it. we need to find the strength to let it go. great post!
