signs of life
In spite of the weather, which has been nothing but cold and grey and rainy for weeks, Spring is forcing its way to the surface. A reminder that life goes on, even in the worst of circumstances.
Growth happens even when you can’t see it, or feel that it’s impossible. Fragility is often an illusion. There is strength to be found in this tiny flower that managed to poke its head through the wet, heavy ground. One small victory for one minuscule part of the food chain that is life.
There’s something to be said for tenacity, that never-give-up kind of stubbornness that keeps us moving through each day, clinging to the bits of sunshine and beauty that by chance may fall upon our shoulders.
It’s the ability to weather the storm that gets us there,
standing with our feet mired in a field full of mud,
and the sun on our face, blossoming.

A beautiful and well stated thought for a rainy Monday. Thank you!

i was about to mention on FB that the sun was shining on the street, that rain was beginning to fall through that sunshine, that a robin was standing in the grass watching it all – living it all. i think this is a better place to say it. the sun is on its face, rain on its back. perfect.

It really is about perseverance . . . wish the sun would stick around, nothing beats feeling it’s rays upon your face.

It feels like every time I come here, you’ve written exactly what I need to read. I had a very fragile-feeling day today and this fills me up. Thank you.

Beautiful post . It has got much life in it. You made me reflect upon some areas of my life which I’ve been overlooking since ever. If that small flower can make its way from the hard muddy ground why do we humans loose the strength and hope over small negative occurrences which happen in our lives? Good point to ponder upon.

“Fragility is often an illusion. There is strength to be found in this tiny flower that managed to poke its head through the wet, heavy ground.”
There is something awe inspiring about the power of plants–their quiet power can push slabs of concrete apart, heave sidewalks, and we don’t notice until the work is already done!
