Beautiful picure Kelly!
I think it depends on the situation. There are times I am reckless and carefree. I dive headfirst into something without thinking it through. Other times, I am cautious and very particular. I wait and ponder and wait some more. Sometimes I wait until it is too late. Is it possible to be an impulsive procratinator? If so, that may expain alot.

Look. Toe tentatively dipped in waters I perceive to be chilly. It makes so much more sense to dive right in. Xo

I wish I could ‘dive right in’. I guess there’s a part of me that fears that when I dive – the ‘pool may not appear’. And a really frustrating thing about me is – I’ll ‘look’ a thing to death before leaping, to my own detriment most of the time.
I also think the circumstances affect the decision. If I have information that leads me to question the intelligence of diving right in ~ then looking holds merit.
If Fear and the Inner Critics are all that’s holding me back … then gosh, I’d sure love to just dive.

When I was younger, I always leaped first. Now that I am older I don’t and my life is much more boring….sigh.
February 20th, 2011 at 11:27 am
Visiting my mind? Wow. Currently debating the merits of each right now. Which probably means I dwell in the look camp and long to move my tent to the divers’ side.

When I was young, my answer would have been different. But I look before I leap these days.
Lovely image.

i always look first…but then when i dive right in, it’s with both feet 🙂
February 20th, 2011 at 12:12 pm
Gorgeous photo. I’m not very good at waiting, but I’m becoming more restrained as I age (thank goodness!) 😉
February 20th, 2011 at 12:29 pm
I’m a diver. Though, after 5+ decades on the planet, am learning the value of looking first…
Gee, glad that didn’t take too long!!
February 20th, 2011 at 1:08 pm
Look before I leap, analyze the situation, over-analyze the situation, look some more, crane my neck to see ALL of the angles, journal about it, make art about it, look even more, then, just maybe, I’ll leap. Or take a small baby step towards the leaping;)
February 20th, 2011 at 1:08 pm
Just lookin’ right now, thanks.

For better or worse – I’m always a dive-right-in person!
February 20th, 2011 at 5:02 pm
I’d love to be a dive right in type of person but even when I think I’ve mustered up the courage to go for the dive I can’t help stealing a look before I make the leap.
February 20th, 2011 at 7:43 pm
Oh, I’ve always been a looker, especially since each time I’ve leapt I’ve ended up being bitten in the butt!
February 20th, 2011 at 10:39 pm
I have to wonder if I would have seen the diver without your prompt. Very neat.
February 20th, 2011 at 10:49 pm
I certainly tend to be more impulsive and look before I leap. I like to think it is my youthful nature and that I have faith in the decisions that I make. I find looking just offers too many what ifs instead of dealing with the what is!!

Look while diving so you know how to position yourself to land.
February 21st, 2011 at 5:05 pm
after i have made my umpteenth trip around the pond
and back and then one more time, i will let you know …
*-*
but wait … some days there is no hesitation …
other days i ought to go back to bed
cuz the self doubt is too, too strong …
but there are the occasions that i dive right in
and i find the results to be spectacular …
so why can’t i do that every time?
i dunno … guess i’d better go round the pond one more time …
and ponder …

Thinking…
February 22nd, 2011 at 4:12 am
i’ve done both….crashed and burned, sometimes, jumped straight into the most amazing situation at other times. gut feel and instinct, perhaps a little common sense although the latter tends to go out the window at the best of times 🙂
just back from the uk into wonderful african sunshine, what a pleasure!!!

I’m afraid I’m a ‘dive right in’ – usually it’s worked in my favor!
February 22nd, 2011 at 9:50 pm
I don’t think there’s an answer to this question. I’ve been asking it every day of my life. Just when you think you know how to solve the riddle, something new presents itself that makes you ask all over again.

jump and a net will appear.
